Jupiter Creek Music

This instrument is Jupiter Creek Music's interpretation of a Les Paul style baritone ukulele or small tenor guitar.

Jupiter Creek Music was set up by Rob Dick and it was a small volume, home instrument shop specialising in solid body electric mandolin and ukulele family instruments, tenor guitars, octave guitars, bouzoukis, six string guitars, lap steel guitars, the dulcimer derived "Strummer From Down under", and the "Stomper" electric percussion effect.

Rob's stated aim was to build good sounding affordable instruments and effects for people to enjoy using and enhance their performances.

He stated on his web page that if customers can't forgive the odd sanding mark or scratch, or the lustre of a hand sprayed finish, then he would prefer that they did not buy a hand-made Jupiter Creek Music instrument.

He added that the minor blemishes and imperfections were the customer's guarantee that this instrument was built in his home workshop in Adelaide, South Australia.

Rob also said that an instrument made by Jupiter Creek Music gives the customer something different - a unique instrument made with care by one person for another, giving satisfaction to the maker and pride of exclusive ownership to the player.

Rob Dick was an extremely nice guy who would help anyone out with any musical problem they had and he was also very witty in his email correspondence.

Unfortunately and very sadly, Rob suddenly passed away in 2012 so I was very pleased that I had the opportunity to at least own an instrument that he had made.
